Our Oslo, Norway vacations begin when you arrive in Norway's cosmopolitan capital. You will be met by your tour director and taken to your hotel. You'll have two days to explore Oslo where you will become absorbed in its extraordinary history and culture. Next you will set off on a train trip through the idyllic Hallingdal Valley and stunning Norwegian fjords region. Along the way, you'll take a cruise on the majestic Sognefjord and spend the night on the shores of the Hardangerfjord, famous for its fruit orchards. Then it's off to the old Hanseatic city of Bergen, where you'll embark on your round trip Norwegian Coastal Voyage. Soak in the sun on the deck, watch the incredible Norwegian fjords scenery and venture ashore to walk the streets of Norway's historic towns. Take in some of the most breathtaking scenery of your journey as you sail through Loroten and Vesteralen Islands after being carefully maneuvered through the waters of Risoyrenna Channel. You'll marvel at the shallow waters as you see the sand banks through the green water on both sides of this narrow, shallow channel. Your round trip journey ends again in Bergen with a day remaining to take in the city's historical past before your return home.

It's a landscape of contrasts and surprises, with winding valleys, precipitous gorges, silvery lakes, and snow-covered mountains. Then it's on to Heddal to visit its twelfth-century triple-nave stave church, Norway's largest. It's said the troll Finn Fairhair prodded five farmers to build the church-in three days! You'll next visit a twelfth-century Romanesque church in Seljord, which legend has it was built by a goblin. It's on to Morgedal, the birthplace of Sondre Norheim, a pioneer of modern skiing, before you ascend the Hardangervidda mountain plateau, a vast expanse of heath, lakes and mountain peaks. After driving through mountain passes and tunnels, you'll arrive at Roedal, famous for its stave church. After a stop at the thundering Latefoss waterfall, which tumbles down the mountainside in a double avalanche before gently spraying the road, you'll proceed along the shore of the Soerfjord, a branch of the mighty Hardangerfjord. You'll cruise by ferry to Bruravik on your way to Ulvik, where you'll spend the night. After dinner, you will most certainly enjoy your visit to a fruit farm. [B/L/D]

You'll arrive in the hamlet of Flam, where you'll lunch before boarding the famous Flam Railway. A marvel of Norwegian engineering, it ascends 2,845 feet in less than an hour, while chugging through a magnificent scenic route you won't soon forget.
